Hello! the purpose of this group is to bring together members of the lgbt community who own dogs and want to make new friends. I find that meeting people at bars or clubs is pretty much impossible, especially if you're trying to meet cool people who like-minded and interested in establishing new friendships. I just got a dog, and have noticed that dog parks are an awesome way to socialize your dog and make some new friends for yourself, too! Please consider joining this group if you have a dog a …

I have 2 standard poodles who love to play and socialize. We go to a couple of other dog meetups but don't meet too many other big dogs for running and more robust play. We're hoping to get together with any larger breeds who like to play and run too. We live in Watertown and especially like Cat Rock Park in Westin but are open to anyplace we can be off-leash in a safe or fenced place.

Do you enjoy hiking at the Middlesex Fells, rock climbing at the Blue HIlls, mountain biking at Cutler Park, bird watching at Rumney Marsh, camping at Camp Nihan, swimming at Nantasket Beach, walking your dog at Webb Park, exploring the Boston Harbor Islands, canoeing the Charles River, listening to a POPs concert at the Esplanade, playing soccer at PJP II, learning about owls at Trailside Museum or people watching and tanning at Revere Beach? Become a park ambassador and lend a helping hand in …
Instead of bringing dogs to a fenced in "boxing ring" to rough house and potentially get hurt, we are bringing them on a focused walk in their most natural state - in a pack. We can do simple paved trails, such as Bare Cove or Pond Meadow Park. Or we can step it up a notch and try the paths less traveled, and go for hikes on the Blue Hills. Location suggestions are welcome! So, all friendly pups and their owners, come join us on our walks for exercise, socialization and some fresh air. Rememb …

For those looking for companionship on weekend walks and moderate hikes - who won't object to having a friendly dog or two come along now and then. Explore some state parks, TTOR properties, beaches and more and share our favorite places...and let's give ourselves a break on the weekends and set off at 10 am or later! (Although we're not intense, participants should be reasonably fit - able to walk at least 3 miles at a moderate pace - walks will average 90 minutes to 2 hours, maybe longer, som …

Fact: Cats don’t socialize the way dogs do. Which means cat people don’t have social outlets like obedience classes and off-leash parks where they can share stories about their furry children, find out who the best vet and/or pet-sitter in the area is, and lots of other useful things. This Meetup group is looking to change that. If you are an aficionado of the feline, rather than the canine, version of a family pet – and especially if you are owned by more than one cat – this is the place to get …
… We could walk at a track, at a park, in the woods, along the streets, anywhere we like, and anywhere you prefer. Dogs? No dogs? Strollers? I'm open! I was thinking of early mornings (I am not a morning person, but this is the time that works best for me), but I'm open to discussion. Let's walk!

Socialization is key during a puppy's development, but it's so hard to find other dogs in their age group outside of formal puppy socialization classes. This group was created so Boston-area puppy owners can get together with their young pups (and young children too!) to make sure that our puppies will grow up to be well-adjusted and comfortable in a variety of social situations. We can meet in local parks, or even member's yards, depending on who's interested.... It'll be fun!
