Cairn Terrier Lovers unite! I see you on the streets but never in the dog park. I was inspired to start this group when I noticed that my Cairn Terrier, Frankie, seemed to love playing with other Cairns more than non-cairns. Don't get me wrong, he loves playing with them too, but his ferocious play growl is often misunderstood by less ferocious players. If you are a Cairn person, or just love them, please join and play like you mean it!
This group brings together Bernese Mountain Dog owners in the Hoboken area for dog friendly events and activities. Our gatherings provide an outlet for Berners and their owners in the Hoboken and surrounding areas to congregate on a regular basis for such activites as hikes, local dog park socials, discounts at participating local retailers, "dogtails and cocktails", and more... Special activities to be planned for the coming winter months, because we all know how much our Berners love the sno …
This Meetup Group is for giant breed dogs and their owners to socialize and share tips, stories, and community with one another. Only we know what it is like to have the "Is that a pony" question asked over and over and over and .... This will be a group where you won't have to hear that question (or any mention of saddles). And it is especially rough here in NYC where a large breed dog tops out at 45 pounds. We will be based in Brooklyn, and I imagine initially at least, will be mostly mee …

Something that all dogs need: Exercise, Walks & Mental Stimulation!! Pooky's club was originally established in 2003 as a "cockers" only meetup. I created it to exercise & socialize my "reactive" dog around other dogs & to meet other cocker owners in the area who love the breed as much as I do. Soon thereafter, people started contacting me saying that they didnt have a cocker, but could they come pleazzzze? So effective 2006 I changed it to Pooky's All Breed Dog Walking Club! All breeds & ages …

Every rescued dog is a success story, and this group can be a place to share your dog's own story while meeting other people who have made the same commitment to saving an animal from a shelter, the streets, or any other bad situation. Join us for a casual leashed walk around Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Since many people are kind enough to adopt dogs with behavioral issues, this isn't a playgroup, but rather a low-key pack walk. Our walks generally last 1.5 hours, and may involve some hills and/o …

I am looking for interest in a all jack russell play date. I have a large indoor space where i work and I also live near two dog parks. Would it not be fun to have- say - fifteen jacks all running around for an hour? No toys or balls means no fights- or it'll at least cut down on them!! Let me know if this appeals and I can work to set up the venue possibilities!
Living in an apartment with a dog is often a challenge, especially when that dog was bred to run full tilt for 12 hours a day! As someone living with a border collie, I often get stressed out about finding enough for him to do. I'm sure other people with herding dogs feel the same and I figure it might be fun to get together and do things with our energetic companions. This purpose of this meetup group is to meet other border collie (and similar breed) lovers, learn about training techniques an …

To all the small dogs and their owners out there in Brooklyn, I'm hoping to start a group so my Shih-tzu Charlie can meet other little dogs. He tends to be very shy, but interested in other dogs, and I'm hoping this could help him out of his shell a little. He is quirky, sweet and quiet, and so hopefully he'll make a few friends through this!
While it's nice to make the trek into Manhattan... sometimes it's nice to just stay local and take advantage of all the parks and dog runs we have in Brooklyn. Plus, I don't know about you but gearing up my pooch Ralfie and packing up his goodies can be quite an ordeal... especially if you have to bridge or tunnel into the city! Ralfie and I would love to meet up with other Brooklyn corgis and corgi owners. We can meetup once a month (or play it by ear) to let our pooches have some fun together.
We are the Dobies of Brooklyn who love to get together for walks, play, and lots of socialization! We will meet at parks, beaches, outdoor beer halls and the likes for lots of doggie (and human) fun. If you have other suggestions please speak up, and of course non-dobie siblings are always welcome!
