My wife and I are from NY, but just moved to Long Island City near the water. We live a couple of blocks from the dog park on Vernon. We thought it might be easier to schedule meetups so that our dogs could play with lots of other dogs in the area. Well really just one dog because our 1 year old Jack Russell/Daschund mix constantly wants to play and our maltese likes to sleep/eat all day. The other main reason for this group is my wife and I are both in marketing but we have different schedules. …
We are a group of Astorians who own/love dogs and we are on a mission to restore Bugsy's Dog Run at Astoria Park. Most of the legalities are done, we are just waiting for final approval, and then we will raise funds and get to work! In addition we will be organizing dog related events, from playdates at the park, to road trips to dog-friendly beaches in the summer and whatever other suggestions our members come up with. Please join us, and become part of a great Astoria community!

Soon thereafter, people started contacting me saying that they didnt have a cocker, but could they come pleazzzze? So effective 2006 I changed it to Pooky's All Breed Dog Walking Club! I'm sure other people with herding dogs feel the same and I figure it might be fun to get together and do things with our energetic companions. This purpose of this meetup group is to meet other border collie (and similar breed) lovers, learn about training techniques an …
